The Booted Eagle was not trapped in a mist net!!!!! As per usual it was a bird that had been downed in the sea by the Yellow Legged Gulls from the massive colony breeding on the Rock.It had been rescued from the drink by a local fisherman and handed in at the raptor rehab.centre.In a couple of days it was in fine fettle ,ringed and released.A fine ringing tick for 1 of our visiting ringers!!!!

Despite still some inclement weather the visiting group of ringers did really well and all red Necked Nightjars were tap lured into the garden nets at the Obs.,superb cryptic plumage in the hand.

The spotted Fly.were the first this Spring,a typical late date for them to pass through, still a strong late passage of Bonellis.

Also first ringing for Ortalan Bunting this year,a bird we trap very few of here.

Melodious Warblers finally turned up!!!!

And yet another Wood warbler, another rare bird for the Rock.

Notice that there is still a good mixed passage of Trans Saharan migrants.
