Damn! I've hust seen that today is the last day they've got the special viewpoint open - and I was planning on visiting this coming week! Does anybody know if they're planning to open it again before the birds disappear? Or should I just try from the normal hides?

To be honest Frank, you have as good or better chance of seeing the birds from the Denge Marsh Road by the chicken farm (google map ref: 50.927242,0.918689)

They seem to show better in sunny conditions and are mostly seen in flight, but as always plenty of patience is required.
Alternatively you could try the viewing mound along the return trail or the Denge Marsh Hide.
There is also a Great White Egret and a Cattle Egret present on the reserve at the moment.

Hope this helps,
Adrian

Hi Adrian and thanks,

Yes, I got told the same by PM. Had some good views when I popped down to see the White-Tailed Plover.

Glad you got some good views (of both species I hope)

Sorry I was so late in replying to your original post but it has been a while since I have visited the forums
