wimberely head / replacement foot combo (1 Viewer)

Ive just got my 4th gen replacement foot for my canon 500mmf4 lens but I am having a problem trying to get the wimberely to balance properly.
Does anyone else have this combo? If so could they tell me where they have the vertical plate positioned?
According to the wimberely instructions I need the centre point of the lens to be higher than the vertical adjustment knob. But I cant physically do that or the mount plate would be off the top of the slider...
