Missing black headed gulls (1 Viewer)

Hello forum

I'm new & after some info.

I'm a member of a sailing club in the cotswolds of england (GL7). Our lake has 3 islands & for the last few years we have had 80 ish breeding pairs of black headed gulls in spring. This year we have 2! Why have they all left us? The only change we have made is this year we put blue dye in the water to block the light to the weed (which grows from the bottom) & slows/stops its growth. This dye is totally organic & vegetable based. Completely safe, you can drink it. Where have our birds gone, is it the mild spring weather?

Thanks
Marc
