I have been gardening for wildlife since I moved in into my new house in May 2000.. actually gardening is the wrong term... systematically neglecting great tracts of land would be more accurate. No chemicals, loads of native trees and shrubs planted...a pond.

I leave two long strips of grass to go to seed each year and cut the front lawn with a very high lawn mover which leaves behind all the native dune plants that have settled in.

This evening I have 50 Gatekeepers 45 Common Blues, Cinnabar catterpillars, Plenty of Burnet moths a few Small Coppers and thousands of Grasshoppers.

All I need now is a migrant Shrike :)
