chipmunk ID help please (1 Viewer)

Hi, Joern,

Attached is a scan of an Eastern Chipmunk from the only terrestrial mammal book I own, which is the Audubon Field Guide to NA Mammals. The description reads:

"Reddish-brown above; belly white, 1 white stripe on sides (bordered by 2 black stripes); stripes end at rump. Dark center stripe down back; light facial stripes above and below eyes. Tail brown on tip, edged with black. Prominent ears. Large internal cheek pouches." It's length is: 8.5-11.75" (215-299mm) and 2 1/8-4 3/8" tall (78-113mm).

Sorry I can't be of more help reference-wise. All these little stripey chippers look alike to me. ;)
