First wintering Rufous (1 Viewer)

I've been hosting wintering Rufous Hummingbirds for several years and this year the first one has arrived earlier than ever, on July 27th (last year it was July 31st). I was able to see that she is banded, and managed to get a great photo which even shows up the last 2 numbers on her band. I checked my records for hummers that were banded at my home during the last winter season and one of them ends with 57! Her gorget pattern is very similar to the bird banded last January, too. This is so exciting and if the humbander can recapture her, it will prove that these little creatures have site fidelity and do remember how to get back to a good wintering spot.
