Macro Flash (1 Viewer)

Does anyone have any experience of the Nikon SB29s marco flash? I'm thinking of buying one - I do a lot of insects / flowers and wondered what your experinence of it was. I have a D100 system and 105 2.8 AF Macro lens.

Cheers

I think there's another thread that deals with this issue. The gist was that the SB-29s will not work "automatically" with a D100, so you have to set it manually. Some people are comfortable with this, some not. Apparently Sigma is coming out with an electronic ring-type flash that will work TTL with digital SLR's.

My own research on macro flash photography has led me to a number of statements to the effect that ring-type illumination is pretty flat and may prove disappointing.
