After seeing the Masked Shrike today I reviewed my modest British list. I probably see about one new British Bird every two years now. I just wondered why I keep a list at all then when I read it the memories of lots of good times came flooding back.

The Thorntonloch Pied and Desert Wheatears
The Musselburgh Royal Tern
The St Abbs Marmora's Warbler
The Dumfries and Galloway Roller
Cycling 50 miles to see 2 Cranes, then having to beg for a lift back home due to dehydration.
Seeing a White-rumped Sandpiper in Troon while the circus bathed its Indian Elephants in the sea in the background of the scope view
