Monday November 15:
Three TRUMPETER SWANS were spotted flying over Bowen Road at Pryde Avenue in Nanaimo.

Sunday November 14:
Six TRUMPETER SWANS, one PARASITIC JAEGER, CALIFORNIA, BONAPART'S, MEW,THAYERS, and GLAUCOUS-WINGED GULLS, a large flock of BLACK, SURF and WHITE-WINGED SCOTERS were seen on the water at the Little Qualicum River Estuary, along with over thirty BALD EAGLES perched in the Fir Trees around the Estuary.

Wednesday November 10:
ANNA'S HUMMINGBIRDS are coming to feeders in the 500 block of Greenbrier Place in Nanaimo and along Centennary Drive in Chase River.
A RED-BREASTED SAPSUCKER was seen at Morrell Sanctuary in Nanaimo.

Tuesday November 09:
A large flock of BLACK, WHITE-WINGED and SURF SCOTERS, LONG-TAILED DUCKS,
BUFFLEHEADS and HARLEQUIN DUCKS were seen at the Little Qualicum River
Estuary.

Monday November 08:
A COMMON REDPOLL was seen in the 1300 block of Ivor Road in Cedar By The Sea.
ANNA'S HUMMINGBIRDS are coming to feeders in the 200 block of Wedgeplace and
Cathers Landing in Nanaimo.

This Sunday Bird Walk November 21, will be going to the Little Qualicum River Estuary.
Meet at the Bird Store at 9:00 a.m. or at the Viewing Tower at Highway 19 A
and Garrett Road in Qualicum Beach at about 9:30 a.m.

We are planning our fourth Seabird Boat Tour with Beachcombers
Excursions aboard the 41’ M.V. Terry Wayne on November 27, 2004.
The plan is to leave Beachcomber Marina at 9:00 a.m. for six hours of
birding on the Strait of Georgia. We will go past Lasqueti Island, over to the Little Qualicum River Estuary, returning to
Beachcomber Marina at 3:00 p.m.
The cost is $40.00 per person.
There is space on the boat for twelve people. If you would like to join us, please email Neil at [email protected] or call me at (250) 954-1928 as soon as convenient and I will finalize the plans.
