Had a walk there today with a couple of Warks WT staff. Definitely worth a visit if you live close by.
It attracts a number of species, not just birds. For example, marbled white are seen most most summers.

Mixed finch flock on the alders; mainly goldfinches but also siskin and redpoll.
A small flock of redwing and fieldfare were feeding on the blackthorn and hawthorn berries along the hedgerow.
In recent years, in extremely harsh weather barn owl has been seen. However, they are only occasional visitors.
Apparently the reserve is one of the few heathland sites remaining in the area.

We do have work parties and if anyone is interested in joining, either pm me or contact Warks WT.
