Hope for Orkney's little terns thanks to school project (RSPB) (1 Viewer)

That's great news, i visited these birds in the Spring and was a bit concerned by the lack of wardening, i was speaking to a resident birder who said that the colony has declined and that their productivity is generally poor. In particular, there were 1 or 2 dog walkers who would regularly disturb the colony. It seems as if conservation efforts were more focussed on other species in the region and the terns were a bit under the radar, whereas if they were in Eastern England or Wales, there may have been more effort put in. Once a colony is gone, i guess it's gone. Are there examples of new Little Tern colonies starting up in the UK? I guess there must be 1 or 2?
