Andy, on the 990, is it necessary to make an adjustment to the lens setting if you are setting the camera up to the scope or should it be left on normal?
 
Do you mean the menu options for using add-on telephotos/wide-angles and the like? If you do, leave on normal, they don't really do anything of importance anyway.
