Canon 20D can take a lot... (1 Viewer)

Certainly without attempting this, I recently checked the stability of my new 20D... It was mounted on an old, too lightweighted tripod (extended to at least 5 feet height), and I wanted to go a few steps apart, when I touched the tripod with my camera bag and it tipped over... The camera crashed with its back on the stone floor and I thought - ok, the show is over! Well, the 75-300mm lens broke completely and there is probably no way to repair it, but the camera seems to be absolutely ok except for a scratch at the back of the battery pack. Amazing. :bounce:
I hope I did not tax your patience to much with this post...

Lucky you ... something similar happened to my wife's 20D ... which, along with an attached 550EX, is now a writeoff. Thankfully, the 100-400 came out relatively unscathed, except for some scratches on the hood.

cheers,
jim
