Possibly the worst "yard" list ever... (1 Viewer)

Robert Ellis

Larus marinus
I have been in an apartment for a year. I am on the second floor and I face a three story building across a 10' wide alley. However, I have rigged the hangers for the storm windows to suspend tube feeders from chains, a tube nectar feeder suctioned to the panes, and the brick sills are adequately wide to serve as a nice tray. Considering the circumstances I was surprised to get anything. However, I am only a block from the river.

Here's the list, one year strong.

rock pigeon
ruby-throated hummingbird
black-capped chickadee
European starling
northern cardinal
house finch
house sparrow

Yep, 7 birds in a year. I can't wait to get back into a house with a yard.

On the bright side, I have a northern flying squirrel that visits, splitting time with the gray anf fox squirrels that climb the vines up to my ledge.
