Monday September 19, 2005:
A VARIED THRUSH and a pair of MERLIN were spotted at MacGregor Marsh off Rutherford Road in north Nanaimo.
Many TURKEY VULTURES were seen flying about twenty feet above the backyards along Bayshore Drive in north Nanaimo.
Sunday September 18:
The Sunday Bird Walk went to Buttertubs Marsh in Nanaimo. A special thanks to Susan Crayston for leading the bird walk this week. Seven birders found the following thirty-three species:

"RARE BIRD ALERT"
A BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPER and a first year LITTLE GULL were seen on Sandy Island near Courtney/Comox. The following seventy six species were also seen on Sandy Island today.
