FZ7 and 1GB cards (1 Viewer)

a friend of mine has just bought a FZ7 and a Sandisk Exterem III 1GB card--after about 40 pics the card came up with a format card error message and will not read or write in fact it seems to have corrupted altogether---with this being a new model surely 1GB cards should be compatible with it? has anyone else had any such problems with Lumix and 1GB or 2Gb cards?

I use my Lumix FZ20 with a fast 1gb card (something cheap, can't remember what at the moment) and it's been fine.

FZ7 SD cards

I had a similar message using a 2GB card - turned out there was a tiny speck of dirt on the contacts of the card - cleaned it and no problems
