Souss-Massa NP Morocco? (1 Viewer)

I am going to Agadir, Morocco next week and thinking to visit the Souss-Massa National Park.

However, the park does not seem to have a website, neither have I found much information for a visitor. Does somebody have any ideas where to go there?

Hello Humu,

Lucky you, absolutely superb reserve. Sod all amenities there so take your own food and drink and may get one or two local guides pestering you near the entrance but apart from that it is brilliant. The birds are excellent and when we went we had the place almost to ourselves. what exactly is it you want to know, how to get there, what birds occur, where to go in the reserve?
getting there is pretty easy if you hire a car, tricky if uou don't. It's a bout an hours drive south of Agadir, turn off the main coast road signposted Massa, drive through the town turn right at a T junction (I think) and follow the road until it reaches the reserve. As for birds.....we were ther end of January and had Osprey, Bonelli's Eagle and Tawnt Eagle amongst the raptors BC Chagra, Marbled Duck, Audouin's gull, Glossy Ibis, Common Crane, Ruddy Shelduck plus loads and loads of other goodies. There is only really one track that runs alongside the lagoon all the way to the sea so not much choice about where to go!
Hope this helps

Nick

PS I'm writing this from memory so don't take it as gospel. Believe me it is well worth the visit, the morning we spent there just wasn't long enough!!!
