410 geared head and 501 fluid head (1 Viewer)

I had a chance yesterday to use a Manfrotto 410 geared head with a quick release. It has geared control knobs that you rotate to pan and tilt. When you needed to move to a new area to look at it allowed you to disengage the geared portion of the knob and quickly rotate the head. It would rengage to geared operation after release for fine adjustment. It seemed nice and made well, fairly compact. I have borrowed and been using a 501 fluid head that I have been happy with. The fine adjustment of the 410 is a nice feature. Has anyone used a 410 and what has been the experience, or pros and cons? Neither of these heads are light weight.
