Hello,

I'm heading to Ramnagar on teh night train tonight. Am wondering if anyone has any general tips on birding / travelling in this area. Obviously, I want to try and stay inside the park but have had conflicting stories on costs.

Is there anywhere that is particulaly recommended?

Cheers

Jim

visited.... campforktailcreek.com in January the owner Ritish, knowledge of sites and birding is brilliant, friendly camp, good food , hospitality is fantastic, we were taken to various sites from the camp which is situated in the buffer zone of the park, [you are limited in the length you can stay inside]
Birding in and around the camp is great from dawn to dusk, Kosi river nearby provides good birding as does the forests and local villages.

They will if you get hold of them before you arrive , pick you up off the train and you will get early morning birding along the way to the camp aboput an hour away.

Ask for Govind as a guide if Ritish cannot take you out,we found him very knowledgable.

We are returning there this time next year.

Enjoy , Corbett is a fantastic place
