Hi everyone.
I'm trying to plan my vacation. I want to head north to Canada again. Anyone have any suggestions on the best places to bird in Eastern Canada? I would love to hear people suggestion or stories.
:h?: Thanks

Cape Breton in Nova Scotia has some boreal species, as well as breeding alcids. So does St. Mary's cliffs (?) in Newfoundland.

Not sure what time of year you are coming, but here in Ontario are some great birding spots.

  • Presqu'ile (I'm heading there this weekend for the shorebirds and monarchs)
  • Point Pelee
  • Long Point

Just to name a few.

Presqu'ile is a horrible place to bird anymore. The park staff are a bunch of lazy asses who cannot even comprehend that paths need to be cleared for birders to stick to them. The beach has been reduced to three viewing platforms and the lighthouse becomes packed when more than 10 birders are in attendance.

Do yourself a faour and check out Prince Edward County, it is a far better birding location than Presqu'ile and is only a little bit distant. Check out the Prince Edward Point Bird Observatory website and terry Sprague's Nature Stuff website for birds and sites.
