Yep, it real guys!
Was just reading all the fuss in europe about a big passage of Muttonbirds down North and Irish seas. Europeans seem just as pleased to see them as Maori here in New Zealand.
Different reason, maybe?
In local fish and chip shop here it's only $12.50 for a Sooty Shearwater oven-ready, or $14.50 with chips. The chippy guy reckons they're good for you cos they eat a lot of fish with essential omega oils in em and they pretty tasty!
They look more appetising than gannet gugha that are eaten in Scotland.
Something else for Pakeha to try on next holiday? Yummy!:eek!:
