In Croydon (1 Viewer)

An overcast cool day in Croydon with only a slight freshening breeze
And songbirds are chirping and singing on the garden bushes and trees
'Tis said that when birds sing in Summer that rain is never far away
Perhaps 'twill be raining tomorrow if not even later today,
The blackbirds and magpies and mynas are singing on the trees on either side of the street
And children playing games in the Parkland race up and down in their bare feet,
Sun tanned from the warm days of the Summer their arms and their legs rather brown
From playing hide and seek in the Parkland in Croydon's big Suburban Town,
The shoppers doing their Christmas shopping at this time of year the shops are kept open till late
When families and friends get together their common bond they celebrate
The time of year for giving presents and parties that last all night long
The old year fades into the new year with drinking and music and dancing and song
On an overcast and cool day in Croydon of perhaps around twenty degrees
The songbirds are chirping and singing familiar in their melodies.
