Frank Lloyd Wright would be impressed with the breathtakingly simple and user friendly filing system I'm in the process of designing and building for my office at home...

Seacliff Coast

Posted Wednesday 4th November 2009 at 09:25 by Seashore
My normal daily stroll from home, if I'm not away working is along the waterfront then a slight climb and along the top of the cliff that looks out on the Gulf St. Vincent in South Australia. I get a few land birds; New Holland Honeyeaters, Crested Pigeons, Willie Wagtails (which are a fantail in real life), Galahs, Australian Magpies and Magpie Larks; introduced birds are Blackbirds, Sparrows, Goldfinches, and Spotted Doves. On the coast I see lots of Silver Gulls, Crested Terns, and Pied Cormorants. Then there are Australian Pelicans, Australian Gannets out to sea, Caspian Terns, the occasional White-faced Heron, Darter, Black-faced Shag, Great and Little Black Cormorants, some Ibis, Welcome Swallows and Black-winged Stilts. Rarely I can see rafts of Shearwaters in their hundreds scooting along the surface.

Most days the birds are the same. It's always a pleasure to see something different.

In May I went on a bird survey to Lake Eyre. I have photos and some discussion on my blog at this link:
