A snowy start to the new month! 01/02/2010 (1 Viewer)

Snowfall through the night fell on to icy roads and pavements! Where were the gritters? Chaos in my area this morning with roads gridlocked. I took the opportunity to take a few photo's of the early morning scene of a snow covered garden and the waning moon. After putting out ground feed the Woodpigeons had a battle and I managed a shot of a Magpie as it flew up towards a birdtable. The first time I have managed to get the full spread of the wings in a pic of a Magpie, I think anyway...off to check me pics.lol!

I have just edited my blog title date '01/01/2010'....I was still in January.lol! Changed it now...01/02/2010... a Palindrome!

We woke up to snow on Saturday morning about 3 inches worth..which had been forecast as a covering of sleet !
But at least it gave us good figures for the RSPB garden Birdwatch and a Fieldfare and Reed Bunting came to boost the rarities section..although a party pooping Sprawk showed up but thankfully no harm was done.

Lovely garden and well done with the Magpie..but can I ask what is the thing to the right of it that seems to resemble "Cousin It" from the Adams family.

I am glad the Sprawk didn't spoil the Birdwatch party for you, Marmot!

The 'thing' is an Ornamental Grass growing in a pot...never thought of it as resembling "Cousin It"...I will now though.lol!!
