Aplomado Falcon.

A Great Bird to Watch in Brazil: Aplomado Falcon!

About a month ago, I had several of those , in just one trip...I kind of lost count...It was more than 06 (six) sights...Then, two weeks ago, when I started a new tour, doing about the same itinerary I told my guests how "easy" was to see the Aplomado Falcon around...BIG MISTAKE! We didn't see any!!!

Well, I broke a "Holy" Rule in Birding: "Never count on Birds" !

The following day, my guests left Mato Grosso, I had the Aplomado Falcon, for the VERY FIRST TIME, seen from my GARDEN in TOWN!!!

Very Best Regards,

Paulo Boute.

Always the way, mate. O'Toole's Law...Murphy was an optimist!

Still, I'd love to see an Aplomado, one of my all time favourite raptors.

Hi Paulo. What a beautiful falcon this is and a great name too. I know little about them. I gather they are extremely rare in the United States.
