The Judas Sheep

Posted Thursday 13th August 2009 at 12:12 by Francis Duggan
The judas sheep up the slaughter-house ramp leads her kindred to die
Yet as a reward for her act of treachery a long life she'll enjoy
The slaughter bound sheep trusted her to lead but she led them to their death
She does not have a sense of right or wrong or a sense of regret.

Tomorrow she will lead more sheep to their deaths and the day after that the same
She is not born with a sense of guilt or with a sense of shame
The slaughter men to save...

If only westerly wasn't the predominant wind in Britain... If South-Easterlies were regular, just imagine the amount of unusual, exciting birds that would turn up then! It just so happens that westerly really isn't a great wind when it comes to seeing the more uncommon birds, and so far this month (well at least here in Aberdeen), the wind seems to have stayed in that direction. However, it doesn't really matter that much, as today I still managed to have a great time watching some of the commoner...

Prologue to Strathbeg

Posted Wednesday 12th August 2009 at 18:08 by TheSeagull
Tomorrow I am venturing to Loch of Strathbeg for a wildlife spotting day. I'm hoping to see some Osprey, Peregrines, White-Tailed Eagles, Marsh Harrier, Pink-footed Geese, Little Egrets, Knot and Waders. I'm also hoping to see some Owls when I'm driving back home. This day will be given an extra boost thanks to my new Panasonic FZ28 camera! I've already taken a number of wildlife pictures at home but I'm hoping for plenty of opportunities at Strathbeg. I might also stop somewhere else on the way...
