Nothing Doing (1 Viewer)

It is probably a bit pointless posting to my blog when I have nothing to report, but I am feeling really fed up and need to "vent my spleen" in some way.
Reasons?
First of all, it is raining and has been all day.
Second, there is no real activity to report at the feeders in the garden, so even if I decided to put plastic bags over the flash units and sat out in the garden shed for a while, I would not have much to photograph except a few bedraggled Goldfinches.
A couple of weeks ago I went to Gigrin Farm in mid Wales to photograph the Red Kites and thoroughly enjoyed it, getting loads of photos. Unfortunately, I'm a little dissappointed in the sharpness of the results. I haven't yet worked out why. It may be the focussing, or through the misuse of the IS (I had it on setting 2), but in all, the results are not what I had hoped for.
Another downer is the fact that I am having trouble with my internet connection, meaning I cannot upload photos at the moment, so I cannot even get feedback on my attempts.
All in all, I'm fed up.
Oh, another thing. I have just bought a new lap top and it is frustrating not to be able to use it to its capacity due to lack of internet. I can just about manage emails and this blog, but that's about it.
Oh well. I will content myself with sitting in the cold of the conservatory and watching the antics of the bedraggled garden birds. At least I don't have to get wet to get my dinner - unless the wife decides on a chinese meal for tea!
