A Fall Day (1 Viewer)

I managed a quick look around Hiroshima Castle at lunch time today and was rewarded with a pretty good smattering of birds.

In the center circle bushes hopping and skulking were a couple of Short-tailed Bush Warblers, trying to blend in with the local Tree Sparrows.

Excited by this new birds frsh in I took a walk around and quickly found several other goodies, the first Grey-streaked Flycatcher of the autumn, 2-3 Narcissus Flycatchers including a resplendent male, a fast-moving Sakhalin Leaf Warbler and the Oriental Cuckoo from yesterday again.

As the cuckoo had dashed past I decided to go and try to find it again, and what should I find, but the first Japanese Paradise Flycatcher of the autumn, not unfortunately a beutiful male with long tail streamers, but still a nice bird to see...perched next to yet another Narcissus Flycatcher male for comparison.

Tomorrow is Baillon's Crake searching day..wish me luck!
