New Sigma 150-500 OS (1 Viewer)

An early xmas present (thanks hun ;)) has made its way to the mount on my Rebel XT. Initially purchased for the 500mm fl, I'm quickly falling head over heels for the Optical Stabilization. I mean, WOW! Sigma claims 4 stops. I haven't found a way to measure this, exactly, but I have no reason to doubt the claim. I'm shooting handheld most of the time, with shutters down to 1/100, and still getting quality detail.

It isn't as sharp at the pixel level as my Canon 70-200 4, but I didn't expect that either. For the price ($881 USD shipped), for my non-professional use, this lens is stellar. I'm happy like a pig in...you know. OK, so it is a little early. I've only had the beast for a week. Needless to say, I'm quite pleased.

So I got the big lens. Next goal, external flash and Better Beamer. ;)

I'm waiting on delivery of mine. I got a Sony DSLT A55 for Christmas and it tore the gears out of the Sigma 70-300mm lens I already had within a day or 2 of use.
Could've done without forking out for a new lens after Christmas (especially after getting a new Camera), but for £600 I couldn't resist.
I'll stick a couple of pics on as soon as I get a chance to play with it!!
