Happy New Year (1 Viewer)

A vain effort to try and do a little birding on the New year's Eve, was met with cold winds and heavy snow and not much in the way of birds.

A few Long-billed Plovers huddled against the cold, a Kingfisher sat atop a small stick in the local neighbourhood looking for a stickleback or two, Daurian Redstarts darted through the undergwoth, briefly sprang out, before disappearing back into the undergrowth , Dusky Thrushes chacked chacked atop the winter cherry trees, Black Kites, herons, Egrets and Cormorants huddled against the cold, while Black-backed Wagtails picked off what they could find along the concreted river edge and Wigeon tried to root out a few roots from the riverbank and Skylarks briefly sung in the cold silent air.
