Here is a list of birds that I have seen previously on my walks to and from work:
Kestrel- seen most morning during February and March, hovering near the bridge.
Barn Owl- only seen once at dusk in late February, near the foot bridge
Long tailed tits- seen regularly at various points along the river.
Greater Spotted woodpecker- heard most days and seen on playing field at rear of estate.
Megansers- often seen
Great tits and Blue tits- very common
Fieldfare and Redwings- seen most morning during February on the playing field behind the estate.
Song thrush- seen regularly.
Herons- seen occasionally
Goldfinch- especially seen in winter feeding on teasels.
The area used to have a population of Sand martins but since the building of the bridge their nesting site has grassed over. An artificial nesting site has been provided but is not being used.
