While the long staying White Pelican and Lesser White-fronted Geese were still present in the Hortobagy, winter visitors also arrived with several sightings of Great Spotted Eagle and Twite. Common cranes reached a historic record in Hungary with 100,400 birds counted on 21 October.
Wallcreepers and Alpine Accentors were reported from 2 other places in Hungary.
Red-throated and Black-throated Divers were also seen in good numbers.
There was a Yellow-browed Warbler ringed along the border to Austria and a Pallas's Leaf Warbler along the Ukrainian border.
