Ok here's my first attempt at a blog, no idea what the standard form of a blog is so i'll just ramble on.
I'm going to write about my birding activities, which include birds in my garden, local patch, and further afield.
Today I've just returned from my local patch (Poynton Pool/Park) after a leisurly walk. Saw seven Tufted Ducks (2 females and 5 males) which was an increase of 5 from friday. Before friday i'd never seen one in the Pool (ok maybe due to the fact that
i've only just decided where my local patch is!).
There were 20+ Goldfinches in the surrounding parkland which were creating a right racket, nice birds though.
Four Great-Crested Grebes were swimming in the 'deep end,' two of which were displaying. Usual assortment of Mallards, Canada Geese, Mute Swans, Coots etc.
Heading back to the car I saw three Great-Black Backed Gulls flying over, one of which being a 2nd winter juvenile (thanks to Collins Field Guide I know that!) which were unusual for Poynton.
All in all a good walk round my patch.
Thanks for reading my glorified log-book, i'll try to be a bit more editorial in future.
