Pond of San Juan. Chinchón I. (1 Viewer)

img_7820.jpg
I arrived to the pond of San Juan in Chinchón near Aranjuez before 9 am because the day was a public holiday. It is one of the very few natural ponds of Madrid, since the majority of ponds are abandoned sand farms. After parking the car I listened a few invisible birds into the riparian trees. But then I saw this female stonechat alongside the path. Yonder a male perched on a reed, but I was surprised by a dark red bird bellow it. It was a red avadat, red munia or strawberry finch. This invasive species is natural from Egypt to Vietnam. It has arrived Europe by trafficking exotic birds from Gujarat in India, since his red color had good sales.
