Conditions are perfect for photography this morning. It snowed in the night, but the sun is shining now, so plenty of light. The cold weather has brought lots of birds into the garden, including a first - a Fieldfare has been feeding on the ground along with the Blackbirds. Unfortunately, I am busy with decorating and haven't the time to set up the camera and sit and watch. Bird numbers are at a high for this winter and I'm glad to see the Wagtail is surviving the cold weather. He commands the floor beneath the fat balls, tightening off the Chaffinches to get at the first crumbs.
Long-tailed Tits seem to visit for a few minutes twice a day. I would love to see either Siskins or Bramblings, but so far, no joy.
Actually, that's wrong.vthere is a lot of joy, watching all the other birds and knowing I'm helping them in some small way. If other birds need me, then they will find me.
Oh well, I have a date with a paintbrush and a ladder.
