It's been along time, but I'm back.

Hi. What? Who am I? Oh, I guess you wouldn't remember me. You see I haven't been on Bird Forum for quite a while really.

I just kinda lost interest for a while but I found the spark again and I'm back!

Hopefully I'll be posting sighting soon.

Actually I will be posting tomorrow because on Monday I went to Martin Mere and I will look over my log book and share what I saw.

But I can't do that now because it's 1:35 am and I should be

Daisy Nook

Posted Monday 23rd February 2009 at 17:11 by BirderBoy
I went to Daisy Nook C.P today which is about 20 minutes from my house on the bus. It is a small C.P with a canal and small lake but gets a surprisingly good variety of birds and every now and then a rarity will pop up. It's worth going if you can't travel far.

Today I saw:

Robin (1) Also heard a couple of others
Nuthatch (2) The second showing really well!
Blue Tit (10-15)
Dunnock (5) Possibility of duplicates.
Great Tit (15) Same as...

Lose a Glaucous, gain an Iceland.

Posted Sunday 22nd February 2009 at 20:24 by BirderBoy
Well it turns out the Glaucous Gull I saw on Friday was actually a 1st winter Iceland Gull!
I'm don't know how to feel.
I'm sad that it wasn't a Glaucous Gull but happy it was an Iceland.
Iceland's are rarer though so actually that's better.
Yay!

Audenshaw Reservoir!!!

Posted Friday 20th February 2009 at 23:50 by BirderBoy
Updated Saturday 21st February 2009 at 08:21 by BirderBoy
Well today I decided I'd go to Audenshaw Reservoir and it was brilliant!!!
It's the first time I've been there, even though it's only 10 minutes walk from my house, because it is closed of to the public and only permit owners can bird there.
Well today I decided that no fence can stop Sean !!!(That's me by the way)
There are a couple of of the fence that have holes in which are big enough to squeeze through with my bins and scope. So I get in then go up on to the reservoir....

Went for a little walk.

Posted Friday 20th February 2009 at 12:17 by BirderBoy
Went for a quick walk yesterday and saw a few birds.
Pied Wagtail
Mallards
BH Gulls
Canada Geese
Moorhen (juv)
Coot
Not bad really for a 10 min walk.
I also went to my local garden center and got some new bird feeding stuff:
Blue Tit Feed (Will attract other tits as well though)
Peanuts
So I'm hoping for some garden visitors soon.
