The soughing of the wind in the trees in the rain
And the gurgling of water in the storm-water drain
And the raindrops that race on down the window pane
Reminds me of my old home by the hill I am back there again.
The river bank high in the rushy field flow
And I hear the harsh caws of the silver back crow
On this wet and wintery January day
The past from us never does seem far away.
Though between us and the Homeland many miles...

Surly looking and hung over after a night on the grog
I cannot say I do like him much though I do like his dog
His golden retriever on seeing me wags her tail
Of making a new friend of every opportunity she does avail
She does not have him to thank for her nice personality
The man and his dog look at life differently
Out walking the retriever after a row with his wife
Hung over and feeling quite hard done by life
But his female dog of people...

So little about Nature I can claim to know
A tiny dark seed to a giant tree can grow
And though great minds are learning from her every day
Her secrets from them she keeps hidden away
The wonders of Nature inspire in us awe
And Nature she only lives by her own law
Compared to her's human achievements seem small
We depend on her to exist after all
We plunder her resources and from her take and take
But if for future generations of people...

The creative powers of Nature I regularly do see
And her unrivalled beauty is living close to me
In every flower and blade of grass in shrub and bush and tree
The mother of creation and none as great as she
No greater force than Nature she rules the sea and land
And she is quite complex in her ways and quite hard to understand
And nothing that humans can build that she cannot easily break
The mighty ocean she can rock and the ground she moves and...
