A Gull By Name A Gull By Nature (Larus fuscus)

I was at South Walney Island Nature Reserve yesterday and managed to photograph this Lesser Black Backed Gull. At the time I was surounded by this species. The calls of the gulls were loud but wonderful and there were hundreds of them. Notice its dull yellow legs.

I could also see 40 Cormorants roosting on a shingle beech close to a number of waders and observed a number of Sandwich Terns in flight off shore. In the midst of this activity a Common Seal showed well and for a minute I thought it might haul itself out of the sea.
