Black-and-gold Cotinga
This is a green coloured female Black-and-gold Cotinga that perched up in a tree next to the house at Macae de Cima. Quite a good bird to have in your garden, and there perhaps aren't too many photos of this species around.

Thank you for your ID support. Somehow interesting to comment a five year old picture. Great capture and for sure an exciting place for bird photography.

Great framing, and the colors all blends well together Andrew. Thanks for your help putting a name to my no name bird, that was a first for me. Take care

Thanks for correcting my mis-ID. And do tell: What is it Cotingas do for ones garden? I'm guessing they eat pests ...? But some birds are also pollinators.

Thanks Ann. I guess Cotingas mostly eat fruit, so maybe they're not so popular with gardeners. But then, probably not so many gardens have Cotingas in them.

Nice framing with the branches, great catch. Thanks for your help in naming the Sparrow
