Hi "Skipton" great picture, I'm thinking about a 20D +17-85 lens and a 100-400 lens, any comments ? Looking at this super sharp picture I think I'm on the right track, but its a LOT of money !!!!

Love my 20D.
I find the 17-85 suits me fine as my walk-about lens... value the wide angle for landscapes. May be a little short as a walk-about for some therefore suggest the 28-135. I value the IS since I like to handhold whenever possible.
100-400 probably the best zoom for birding.... getting one soon.
400 f/5.6L best for birds in flight (in good light), super fast AF.
Suggest viewing the many threads on the Forum re most suitable lens for purpose... before making a decision.
