Blackbird melonfest!
The final image - perhaps I should have entered them in reverse order!

Blackbird by now delving into the melon to search for any juicy bits. By now the melon is almost transparent!
The shadow of the blackbird can be seen through the skin.

All these photos were taken through the double-glazed window of the kitchen, overlooking the back garden.

Thanks for the kind comments! Yes, I did cut the melon, zig-zagging around the widest part. It's not difficult to do. But I have been amazed at the dedication of all the blackbirds in polishing off the two halves!!
They also love strawberries, pear, apple, and surprisingly orange, if you cut it in half. Of course, the birds think this is a 5* Bird Hotel!!
