Can you ID this duck

I came across these 2 ducks on Inverurie River this afternoon. They were black at first sight but when I got closer their wings had a dark green tinge to them. They have a broad white band under their beak around the front of the neck which does not extend all the way round to the back of their neck.

Any ideas as to what type of duck they are?

Notice how the tail points upwards. I wondered about a type of Ruddy Duck! They were about twice the size of the female mallard nearby.

Very interesting.
I have no idea really but would hazard a guess at a Mallard with some nonwild influences.

all sorts of domestic ducks appear by magic at Fyvie Castle by the Ythan, they are well within flying distance of the Don and the Urie. White bibbed ducks such as the Blue Swedish are quite common but the pink bills are pretty unusual.
