Cape Cormorant 2a (Phalacrocorax capensis)

The main attraction at this location is the colony of African Penguins, but they are outnumbered by four Cormorant species who breed in large numbers on the rocks. For this bird, the starburst on the eye-ring was not apparent until the image was zoomed in. Other Cormorant species have this feature, but none I've seen so striking as the Cape
