Dodo???!
It's alright, I know it's not a Dodo, but I couldn't resist the caption! This Southern Giant Petrel was on the beach in Gold Harbour in South Georgia, watching carefully for any vulnerable king penguin eggs or chicks. Not the prettiest or most elegant of birds on land, and fairly voracious predators, but they look far more graceful as the swoop low over the wavetops out at sea. You can tell it is a Southern one by the green tip to the beak.
