Eastern Rosella @ home (Platycercus eximius)

2014 has been a bit of a hectic year, with 2 jobs on the go, but all being well, that will change from next month when I retire from one of them and I can find more time to get back into my BF life. We were out looking for shorebirds that are now arriving from their breeding season up north with no luck, but this beauty was on the power lines out the front of our house to welcome us home.
Habitat
The Eastern Rosella is found in open woodlands, grasslands, farmlands and remnant bushland. Often found in urban habitats such as parks, gardens and golf courses.

Great shot of this parrot that looks as though it's been dipped in a paint pot, Eric! Always liken seeing pictures of these.
