European Goldfinch (Carduelis carduelis)

Recently I realised some of my BF images will have looked rather overexposed. This is because I'm photophobic and have to keep screen brightness low. So when processing an image, what appears "just right" to me will appear overexposed when viewed on screens at normal brightness.

Before posting an image, I now compare it with other bird pics in the Gallery, and also temporarily turn my own screen brightness up (it's like looking into undipped headlights!) before making final adjustments.

With all that out of the way, here's a Goldfinch which hopefully is more or less OK.

Thank you for your kind comments on my pictures, and good birding!

A beautiful Goldfinch with great looking exposure to me John. Fabulous colors, detail, and bird. TFS!

perfect exposure, John!!! it was nicely posing for you, giving you a perfect head turn. beautiful photo with excellent feather details, top class, many tfs!!!

Superb shot! Sounds like you could use an editing assistant doing the final brightness check. And perhaps retrieving some shots you've binned as "too dark".

Thanks for the info John, I can imagine the difficulty. This is a fine shot.
