Flooded forest along the Amazon

On a boat tour near the city of Manaus (1,000 miles upriver), we were taken to see the flooded forests - also known as the "varzea". Great place to see birds!

Flood forests are wonderful habitats, aren't they Helen.

A great example of a varzea forest Helen! It does look birdy and a bit mosquitoey as well (LOL). TFS Helen!!!!
