Galapagos Shearwater
A pair of these extremely cute birds joined us for a sail off the coast of El Salvador. We had passed a few large flotillas of them and I had been trying to see them well for days. They are very fast and it was really a treat to have them land on Peregrine and get up close and personal. I got a get video of them 'tubenosing'. I was kind of surprised at how small they were up close.
Habitat
pelagic

Off coast El Salvador

Puffinus subalaris

Thanks, Chocky, a bit blurry even after sharpening. I only got a few out of many shots that worked at all. Every time I shot, the boat went up, or down or sideways and I had the tip of a tail or a blank bit of ocean or a blur of what otherwise would have been a really nice shot. ;) They were so cute and I was thrilled they landed.
