I wouldn't mind hanging around there all day.

Haha, Yes KC, with the constant drips of water it's nature's air-conditioner ! It's lovely and cool even in summer :)

Three brilliant posts .. amazing places ... thank you for sharing, Chosun ...

Thank you Alok, it is a very special place - these hanging swamps, and the sheltered gorges cut into, and at the base of the escarpment are one of the few places were the vegetation is a bright verdant green, of more lush, and rainforest species - in comparison to the duller green of the eucalypts whose volatile oils give rise to the 'blue' of the Blue Mountains :)

Thank you Stanley :t: though if there is any sort of impression of the towering cliffs - it is because you are clinging mountain goat style to the side of the escarpment half way down on a track cut into the cliff face at times only a metre wide!

The walk is one of our treasures called the 'National Pass' which unfortunately has been closed since late winter for maintenance as large sandstone blocks periodically dislodge and go crashing into the valley floor below. Sadly, a contractor working on repairs to the track died just the other day, crushed by one of these very events .....

The cool dripping water and ancient hanging vegetation take you back to a primordial time - a lovely shaded walk even in the middle of summer.

Thanks Mo :t: ..... not too many options on perspective other than looking straight up - unless you've got wings! because if you try and back away any further you are off the edge of the cliff and into thin air! :-O
